Tip 1, GF Gravy
• A good base for delish gravy – set your oven at 160C, put some bones (beef, chicken, turkey etc) in a large dish with 2 onions, 2 carrots, 2 sticks of celery and water. Reduce it in the oven for ½ an hour, you may need to top up the water. Pour it through a sieve and you have a lovely base to work with. Even if you need to add bought stock it will still be very tasty (make sure the stock is GF obviously!)
• Have you tried this recipe? Gluten-Free Beef Gravy
• You could try thickening your gravy with Gluten free cornflour or a GF Maggi gravy mix. Another alternative is Edlyn gravy mix which is DF & GF, it works well for thickening and is very nice. Using your potato water from boiling potatoes is also a good thickener.
• Freeze the water that beans have been cooked in during the week – you can then use this in your gravy to help add a little extra flavour.
• You could make a red wine jus base beforehand and then add meat juice at the time. Otherwise, if you are cooking meat during the week, freeze the meat juice, and then thaw and make the gravy the day before.
• If I have any leftover gravy, I always keep and freeze to use as a tasty base for my next gravy.
• I find if I add some Worcestershire sauce (GF) or a splash of balsamic vinegar it adds that little bit of extra flavour you’re looking for!

Tip 5, GF / DF Breakfasts
There are lots of lovely breakfast recipe ideas on the website, often you can substitute in gluten free and dairy free options… The only thing I would say is make sure you watch the flavouring, sometimes dairy-free can make dishes a bit bland.
Breakfast Strudels – Find a good quality gluten free pastry and you can’t tell the difference.
Savoury Waffles – These work very well with a gluten free flour. Add chorizo and spinach into the batter and they are delicious!
5-Ingredient GF Blackberry Almond & Vanilla Bean Friands – great gluten free option.
Maple Bacon Corn Fritter Stacks with Bourbon Vinaigrette – You can make the vinaigrette a long time ahead and store it in the fridge.
